In the article the definition of legibility of a font description of assessment methods readability font: tachistoscope, the definition of a threshold distance, optical measurement of visibility, the measurement of speed reading, recording eye movements. The most optimal method of studying the readability (method of measuring the speed of reading). Given this conclusion the developed technology assessment comprehensive study readability and quality of the font. It consists of determining the readability and aesthetics of the font classification and prediction of perception fonts. Readability is determined by measuring the time reading a text recipient, designed a specific font. The subjective perception of a reader font is proposed to determine, using the method of paired comparisons. The classification of fonts is carried out using methods of pattern recognition, these are the methods of cluster and factor analysis, principal component analysis. Forecasting is performed using the methods of discriminant analysis and the decision tree. The resulting decision rule allows to predict the quality of the new font.
