Printing machines are expensive and important part of every printing production. Mechanisms which used in different presses are precise and should work with accuracy up to 4–5 µm. Aggressive environment like inks, paper dust and alcohol dampening, increasing of printing speed and three-shift operations causes fast wear and tear processes. As a result printing presses provide lower quality and repeated breakdowns.
There are a plenty technical solutions which can predict such processes, but most of them cannot be adapted to cylinder shaped details in printing machines, others offer only high-cost and resource-intensive technologies. A new technology of strengthening and recovery of details based on vibration roll burnishing is offered in the present article. Experimental work and scientific conclusions are described.
